The short version

We set no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies, and there is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to. The cookies below are strictly necessary or set only when you ask for something.

Every cookie we set

wordpress_test_cookie

Set once when you open the login page, to check that cookies work. Session only.

woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart

Set only when you put a ticket or an item in the basket, so the basket survives a page load. Session.

wp_woocommerce_session_*

Keeps your basket and checkout details together during a purchase. Two days.

sonic_play_*

A short-lived marker so one visitor is not counted twice for the same episode within half an hour. Thirty minutes, stored server-side.

What we deliberately do not use

• Google Analytics, Matomo or any other analytics package.
• Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn or Google advertising pixels.
• Tracking redirects in front of the audio files — your podcast app talks to our server directly.
• Fingerprinting of any kind, including for fraud scoring.

The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes one request to fonts.gstatic.com. No cookie is set by it. If that matters to you, tell us and we will self-host them — it is on the list anyway.

Embedded things

Some journal entries embed a YouTube or Spotify player. Those set their own cookies once you press play, and their policies apply. Nothing embeds automatically on a page you have not asked for.

Turning them off

Every browser can block or delete cookies per site. If you block ours, reading and listening still work; the basket and the checkout do not.
