Studio hire

Our room, your recording, our engineer.

Weekday mornings are usually free at two days notice. You get the room, someone who knows it, and your files the same day.

What you get

A room that is already set up.

Six microphones on stands, a table that seats six, headphones for everyone and an engineer who has run about nine hundred sessions in this room. You turn up, sit down and talk.

We record every session multi-track and twice, on separate devices. You leave with the raw files, and if you want them edited we quote for that up front rather than billing you a surprise.

Rates

What it costs.

Excluding VAT. Nothing is charged until the session happens, and if we have to cancel on you, the next one is free.

Half day

€ 180 four hours

Enough for an interview, a short episode or a pilot. Four hours in the room with someone who knows where everything is.

  • The live room, up to four people
  • Engineer for setup and level checks
  • Multi-track recording, files handed over the same day
  • Coffee, and a fridge you may raid

Weekday mornings are usually free at two days notice.

Full day

€ 320 eight hours

For a batch of episodes, an audiobook chapter or a day of interviews. Most people book this once and then stop booking anything else.

  • The live room, up to six people
  • Engineer for the whole day
  • Remote guest patched in if you need one
  • Rough cut of one piece within 48 hours

Two or more days a month brings it to €280.

Remote guest session

€ 90 per hour

You are in the room, your guest is anywhere. Double-ender recording so their side does not depend on their internet.

  • Studio-side recording
  • Local capture on the guest end, collected for you
  • Backup recording on a separate device

Minimum one hour, billed in half hours after that.

Editing

€ 45 per hour

Editing on its own, for people who recorded elsewhere. Noise, pacing, structure — we will tell you honestly if it needs a re-record.

  • Clean-up and levelling
  • Structural edit with notes
  • One round of changes included

Rough estimate given up front, and we stick to it.

Things people ask

Answered before you have to ask.

Can I bring my own microphone?

Yes. Bring whatever you like — the engineer will patch it in and will also tell you honestly if the one on the table is better.

Do you do video?

Two cameras, static, on request. We are a sound company and we will not pretend otherwise, but a talking-head cut is well within what the room does.

Can you edit it?

Yes, at €45 an hour with an estimate up front. Most one-hour interviews take two to three hours to make properly listenable.

What if I have never recorded anything?

Then say so when you book. We will put half an hour at the front of the session for levels, nerves and coffee, and it will not be billed.

Or see it first

Come and look at the room.

Ten minutes, no obligation, usually a Tuesday afternoon. Most people book after standing in it for a while rather than after reading a rate card.
